Welcoming the Chair of the Association of Women organizations based in Iran to raise funds for helping the poor people.
Diplomats and the Spouse of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Amir-Abdollahian to the Sri Lanka Booth, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Iran, G.M.V. Wishwanath Aponsu appreciated her leadership to organize the Iran Charity Bazaar 2023 successfully with the participation of more than 150 entities and other bodies. The Chair of the Association, Amir-Abdollahian thanked to Ambassador Aponsu for the active participation of the Embassy at the Charity market with the donation of six cartons containing Ceylon tea and other Sri Lanka’s products. The Ambassador encouraged the Spouse of the Iran Foreign Minister and other visitors to taste the difference of Ceylon tea high qualities from seven regions.
The Charity Market Place featured more than 145 stalls, that were showcased a wide array of products, including the participation of more than 25 diplomatic missions. The Sri Lanka stall also displayed and promoted Ceylon tea, provided by the Sri Lanka Tea Board and several tea importing companies in Iran, and some export products, given by the Export Development Board of Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lanka stall attracted many people and all visitors were served a cup of Ceylon tea throughout the event. The Embassy was also able to promote Sri Lanka as an attractive tourist destination.
